What is Karaoke?
The concept of karaoke,
singing with pre-recorded accompaniment music, originated almost
twenty five years ago in Kobe City, Japan. The legend goes that
in a small snack bar, when the accompaniment musician fell ill,
the owner started to record his instrumental music so that his vocal
singer could perform with the recorded music as his accompaniment
orchestra.
AND THE CONCEPT OF 'KARAOKE'
WAS BORN.
In Japanese, the
word "kara" meaning empty ( as in "karate" which
means empty handed) and "oke," an abbreviation from the
word orchestra, have been joined together to form the
word 'KARAOKE' meaning empty orchestra.
Since then, this
revolutionary concept has spread and developed throughout the Western
World and Southeast Asia including Korea, Bangkok, and Singapore.

Aniruddh and Hindi Karaoke
It is
Aniruddh who has first brought this concept to Indian music
in 1988-90 and published his first karaoke album cassettes. His
goal to spread Hindi Karaoke has only strengthened since then, with
a collection of over 70 albums that bring the colorful voice of
Indian music to people all over the world. Indian music defines
our rich history and diverse culture, and Aniruddh's Karaoke gives
people the medium to express their own traditions and values.
Every music lover
has a desire within himself to sing like the artists he most adores.
Karaoke music makes one feel like a professional singer when singing
into the microphone with professional music accompaniment.
Karaoke fulfills one's desire to sing with full orchestral music
and has also stimulated the dream to perform in front of an audience.
According to Aniruddh,
"In this technological world of stress and pressure, the concept
of karaoke has grown to be a new way of relief and entertainment.
Besides that I believe that it is an excellent learning tool and
going to bring out many hidden talents which otherwise would have
gone unnoticed and I will prove it my Talent Search project...."
